Funny moment of football

Football can be a cruel game. Fans all around the world have experienced the disappointment football carries with it. But enough doom and gloom!

Here, and in no particular order, we look back at 10 funny moments from the history of the beautiful game. Darren Bent scored goals in his professional career, but really it was and a half. It proved to be the only goal of the game. As part of an extravagant opening ceremony, Diana Ross was supposed to kick a ball from close range into a goal, but she missed the target entirely. Liverpool hero Steven Gerrard was sent off after just 38 seconds after coming off the bench against Manchester United in March Liverpool ended up wasting a golden opportunity to win the Premier League title and the incident, unfortunately, will always haunt poor old Stevie G. The football Man Utd produced under his management may have been awful but at least he provided some entertainment during his two seasons in English football. Arguably his funniest moment came during a match against Arsenal when he theatrically fell to the deck in order to make a point. But never forget that Joey Barton was also sent off in this match for elbowing Carlos Tevez. After Mike Dean more on him later showed the hotheaded midfielder a red card, Barton reacted by kneeing Sergio Aguero in the back before trying get his hands on Mario Balotelli. Phil Jones pulling weird faces, Phil Jones taking corners, Phil Jones handballing his own overhead kicks… the list is endless. Brazil produced one of the most disastrous team performances ever against Germany, who smashed seven goals past the World Cup hosts in the semi-final stage.

There were a few more stretcher mistakes, but I picked out what I thought were the best two.

It wasn't the most memorable NFL season when it came to the quality of play. Sixteen teams finished below. Not great stuff. But when it came to funny things that happened on and around the field, it's been great. Fans were jumping on flaming tables and ripping jerseys like Hulk Hogan, while players were messing up in the most spectacular of ways. To forget all that mediocrity on the field, we decided to focus on the many tremendously funny moments of the season. So sit back, relax and have a laugh, football fans! Just imagine being the injured player in the second! Football fans worldwide still try and do the Scorpion Kick to this day, and almost everyone knows about it. However, this medic seems to have got fed up with all the diving in football today and launched a ruthless two-footed tackle on the player down injured! Unhappy with a decision, he remonstrated with Mike Dean and decided to enact a reconstruction by throwing himself to the floor. He always seems to be in the wrong place at the wrong time. Laurent Robert had one of the hardest shots in the League. Football fights are entertaining most of the time. So I hope you enjoyed looking at the lighter side of football, and if you have any that I missed out, feel free to say them! Call me old fashioned, but I thought that when the first-aiders came on it was to help the player who was 'injured'. Just months after he was appointed Liverpool manager, Jurgen Klopp led the Reds to a thrilling victory away at Norwich City. Get the guidance!
