PING offers a variety of shaft flexes in steel and graphite to meet your needs and preferences. Selecting the proper shaft flex for your swing will help you get the most distance and accuracy from every shot. Generally, players with faster swing speeds require stiffer shafts to keep the ball trajectory lower, while players with slower swing speeds will require more-flexible shafts to produce a higher ball trajectory. We recommend that you get fit for the shaft that allows you to play your best golf. PING offers a variety of grip sizes and styles to fit different hand sizes and texture preferences. Since grip size influences your wrist action, and therefore the direction of your shots, it is commonly used by fitters to affect ball flight. PING color-coded grips are available in six different diameters, and can be further customized with grip tape according to your needs.

What you will also like is the forgiveness that these irons provide thanks to several key technical improvements from the previous model. Behind this in the cavity sits a new badge that is the full width of the space available rather than fitting around the COR-Eye as before. The stand out feature is the black circle over the plastic COR-Eye which has a slightly rubberised feel to it and dampens down vibrations to refine the sound and feel. Also in the cavity is the Custom Tuning Port CTP which you should be familiar with by now as it has been around in all Ping's irons for a while. Like the G iron the CTP is concealed in the trailing edge of the cavity from where it modifies the swing weight to give the right balance to the club through impact of D0 as standard in the 4 to 8 irons, before increasing up to D2 in the P and U wedges.
The entire line utilizes several new materials and refined shapes, while expanding on familiar themes and technologies of the recent past. A main benefit of the shape shift is more efficient aerodynamics, enhanced by the crown ridges known as turbulators near the front. The tungsten in the G, which is positioned directly in the rear in the standard model, slightly forward in the low-spin LST version and slightly toward the heel in the draw-biased SFT version, is 30 percent more dense than in the weights used in the G drivers. That means slightly more stability in the heel-toe mishits than previous G drivers and substantially more stability on high-low mishits. Jertson says it flexes 16 percent more than the face on the G driver. The G driver already has been put in play by 70 tour players worldwide , according to company chairman and CEO John A. G fairway woods, hybrids The G fairway woods and hybrids build on the G metalwoods easier-launching design by adding increased face flexibility for faster ball speeds. The key is a new C maraging steel face insert. That steel is used in autosport components and landing gear for light aircraft. G Crossover Once again, Ping brings a transitional club to the line, the hollow, iron-like G Crossover.

An obvious choice for anyone seeking forgiveness. For me, however, there are two exceptions. Not the case.

Great feel, forgiving and great for the weekend golfer, can't wait to play again. It might sound tempting, but you do still need to get the ball launching correctly and then landing steep enough to stop, so this is probably only for high swing speed or high spin players, but the nice chaps at Ping will help you with that. It's the sort of iron that you think should be mid to high handicapper game improvement, but actually the G could be played by players of most levels down to single figures and that is probably one of the best things you can say about it. Standard swingweights for graphite-shafted clubs are 1 to 2 points lighter than shown, depending on shaft flex. KBS Tour. Whilst I was getting more spin, Ping say I should have been getting less, so that could just be the vagaries of live testing. What you will also like is the forgiveness that these irons provide thanks to several key technical improvements from the previous model. I am 60 years old and this is the first set of clubs that I had fit to my specs, I got SFT driver, in 3 metal and 2 Hybrids, then 5-PW and got three of the new Glide 2. RELATED: Ping G irons review The problems stem from how game improvement golf irons in the past have been viewed by designers as the poor cousins of better player alternatives.
