Originally a Jotunn warrior from Jotunheim, Faye eventually met Kratos years after the latter's decimation of Greece, and eventually became the mother of Atreus. Due to her last wish to scatter her ashes at the highest peak of Midgard, Kratos and Atreus undertake the journey which get them in conflict with the Aesir. In the Japanese dub of the game, she is voiced by Haruka Shimizu. Faye used to be a vengeful warrior due to her desire for vengeance against the Aesir, for which she came into blows several times with Thor. Despite that, she forgoed her vengeance as she decided to settle down with Kratos after they fought during their first meeting.

In 's God of War reboot, players were introduced to a new Kratos. He was an old god living another life in a completely different mythological plane, but he now had a personality and emotional depth that was previously obscured by rage and grief.
