The folks at Got Friends have a reputation for creating some impressive content. Sometimes that content gotfriends of the conventional add-on aircraft variety and sometimes they go and do something a little bit different, gotfriends, gotfriends. The talented folks at Got Friends have released this weekend a new aircraft for Microsoft Flight Simulator. It has been available as a payware product from Orbx , and also as a freeware model from Jonx. So, Got Friends decided to seriously overhaul the Edgley Optica , replacing the existing freeware model with a much improved payware version, which is now available through flightsim. Got Friends really want this to be the best simulation of the EA-7 Edgley Optica on the market, so they are promising a fine-tuned flight model from Got Gravel, along with a very detailed 3D model and textures. The Optica is absolutely perfect for this, a low and slow flying machine that provides a clear view all around. Overall, this is another great release from Got Friends, who continue to impress us with improved products and a very nice attitude towards the community. Speaking of remasters, this is the second product of this kind that Got Friends has released in recent months. The Optica now follows a similar path that the Discus glider did at the end of , when the freeware Discus-2b paved the way for a significantly improved remasterd, in the form of the Discus-2c.

Overwriting add-ons is a major mistake that is slowing being accepted as common practice. This is never the case and many of our support requests are due to individuals overwriting folders instead of doing a fresh "drag-n-drop" install. Our updates never include individual files.

In the works for over 2-years, the folks at Got Friends have build up a collection of some truly varied airplanes from their recent and quirky Double Ender bushplane to the futuristic Astro ONE and now on to something even closer to my heart — a warbird! Here are a few first impressions of their F4F Wildcat as I put this airplane through its paces. Its not painted in the same brush that the Hellcat, Corsair, Mustang and Spitfire are but its nonetheless revered among warbird fans as being the fighter that held the line at some of the Pacific Wars biggest battles — Coral Sea, Midway and Guadalcanal spring to mind almost immediately.
