Gunsmith quests are arguably the easiest method of gaining XP after you reach the Flea market level. They give you a nice boost to a new level when completed. Some players avoid these quests as they can hit your pocket quite deep when buying the parts necessary, however, I would point out that for the most part, Mechanic pays well for the quests. In the long run, you can get thousands of XP and level up Mechanic with just a couple of hundred thousand rubles spent - which is basically one good Scav run on Reserve.
