Compared to a 5-star Hotel I was staying at a couple of days before, this place is a really good value for its money. I got a large room for myself and my family and it was really spacious and comfortable. The staff are very friendly fellows and were really helpful. I guess you could rate it 5 star for the area, though is lacking a few of the finer details of a true 5 star hotel, only minor though. The staff are always pleasant and restaurant is good, with a nice selection of local and imported wines available. I have stayed at many hotels in Istanbul, however keep coming back to the Gorrion, It is close to the airport, so, you do get a bit of flight noise, though nothing that is to disturbing. I was exhausted after such a long flight with very little sleep, and somewhat light-heartedly requested the quietest room that they had.
