I'm new here, but I came across this board while looking for information on breeding Syrian hamsters and I felt it'd probably be a lot faster just asking folks rather than lurking or sifting through old threads to see if anyone else has asked the same thing, lol Anyway, I am a 22 year old hamster lover in the US, and I noticed just by peering through a few threads that the vast majority of users here are in the UK or Europe. Well, here in the states, or at least in my state Minnesota , the two major pet store chains Petsmart and Petco have both stopped carrying Syrian hamsters. At first, I thought this was a great thing. Hooray, no more homeless hams!
