In Hearthstone's Patch The developers are aiming to give a chance to certain deck archetypes before they rotate out of Standard, hearthstone card buffs. We also saw a lot of updates to Battlegrounds.

The goal was to give pro players enough time to playtest it and prepare before they had to submit their decks.

Card changes are the alteration of cards from their previous designs. When the need arises, Hearthstone' s designers make card changes that get implemented within patches. Normally, cards which have been nerfed will be made disenchantable for their full crafting cost, for a short adjustment period of 2 weeks. Other card changes, such as buffs will not feature such refund periods. This page lists all card changes made in Hearthstone , to date. Only intentional design changes are listed here. Card changes are displayed to the player when logging in for the first time following the changes.

While some players were hoping for more Overheal support in this patch, Overheal is an evergreen mechanic that we hope and expect to evolve over time, including through additional future card drops, hearthstone card buffs, instead of just adjustments to our first batch. New: Discover a spell.

A buff is a card change that causes a card to become more effective or more powerful. The opposite of a buff is a nerf. In Hearthstone, buffs are not called for as often by players as nerfs, since cards that need buffs are usually not visible enough to gather attention in a particular meta. Therefore, buffs are usually requested for a variety of reasons, such as wanting an interesting but weak deck archetype to see play, or wanting to give boost to a struggling class. Developers agree that buffs in general are "low reward and high risk". Over-nerfed cards, however, don't usually create massive power spikes in decks, as the actual power of any particular deck isn't increased. There is a tight window for success when buffing a card, where it needs to transition from a low play rate to just a slightly higher play rate.

Though buffs would not become a regular occurrence until after patch We think it is fun and thematic for Rogue to have those turns where they play a bunch of cards and get rewarded for it, but we want to slow that turn down a little. Miracle Rogue has not been overperforming in power, but we are aware it can win in frustrating ways, so we'll be keeping an eye on how it develops following these buffs. We considered other Shaman cards like Tunnel Trogg and Totem Golem , but these are both leaving Standard relatively soon, so we thought it would be better to change Rockbiter and improve the Standard format in a more permanent way. We think Hearthstone is better all around when interactions are consistent, and we like the fact that a Naga Sea Witch giants deck archetype exists. Nat had too much draw power for a card that is fairly hard to counter so early in the game, making it almost an auto-include for many decks. New: [2 Mana] Deal 2 damage. We hope these buffs will make the low-hand-size deck a little more appealing! We're excited to see where the mini-set lands after these adjustments. This change to Lightning Storm also puts it better in line with the other current Cost AoE spells. Edwin, Defias Kingpin. Gain 8 Armor. This was a preemptive change as we saw a potentially dominant matchup spread for Hunter after these changes. At 7 mana, we expect Giggling Inventor will find its way into fewer decks in general—and be much less effective in Quest Rogue—while it might remain situationally playable within specific deck archetypes, such as Evolve Shaman. The patch gives a small nerf to Rainbow Mage and Enrage Warrior while buffing some weaker cards, as well as a few Excavate treasures. Alliance Bannerman - Now has 1 Health Down from 2.
