How to terminate rj11 using cat5
Terminate a cat 5e cable with rj11 on both ends? February 1, how to terminate rj11 using cat5, PM Subscribe I have att uverse internet and they gave me a 2 15 feet cat 5e cables terminated with rj11 ends that plug into my modem. I'm thinking of buying a crap ton of these and going to town.
Also how do you crip it on the other end so it can be hooked up to the line from outside. I actually already replaced some of the plates on the walls with RJ45, rest are still RJ But I just temporarily want to swap one of those RJ45s into RJ11 and plug into the phone jack, and this way I can have my Cable Modem in another room I have no outlet in my closet, damn contractors! I know RJ11 is not parallel, that means they swap to , so I don't want to make a mistake. I don't know the spec by heart, but for the sake of conversation you could take a CAT5 cable and go from left to right Blue-Green-Brown-Orange on one end and then on the other from left to right go Orange-Brown-Green-Blue and then it should work. If there was a way without getting into splicing and crimping, that would be ultimate.

Thanks for the great info. I am just setting up an OOMA VOIP device in my study and wanted to send the phone back down the line to the distribution box for the rest of the house. This will allow me to send the phone line back down on either l3 or l4. Appreciate all the information which is very clear. Hope anyone could enlighten me with this.. Please enlighten me folks.. Thanks ahead of time
RJ is an acronym for Registered Jack. Registered Jack type 11 is standard for telephone use in North America and many other parts of the world. There are registered jack designations from RJ11 to RJ Though the RJ connector has a total of 6 connector positions, typically either only 2 or 4 are used. RJ connector wiring comes in two standard types.

I'm not sure from your post what you're planning to do with a "crap ton" of rj11 ends. Thread starter iluvdeal Start date Jun 23, It will travel down the supplied flat hub cable better than cat cable. You only need half of a cable per jack. You may use either. All the RJ11 crimp connectors I've seen are made for stranded cable. In most cases, the only good way to fix this is to re-crimp the terminator onto the cable. My broadband Hub is in a room the other side of a wall to where my master socket is. If you have jacks or loose wires, your job is easier. Can you show how to make an rj11 male plug on one end to an rj45 male or female plug on the other end What is the best method so i do not have to have a gang of wires for my rj45 cat5 wiring?
