Hp pavilion g6 card reader driver

Any card pluged into the SD slot isnt recognised. I just purchased the same laptop OCt 20th and am just trying out the SD slot and it is not working for me either. Is there a driver needed? It appears that some SD cards are readable by this G6 card reader, and some SD cards are not readable by this G6 card reader. Is there a compatibility issue with the Realtek card reader and SD cards with Toshiba controller?

I am also having Gtx laptop. I checked in device manager. But also i am unable to read any SD cards in card reader. I can't believe this. None of the suggestions here worked.
