I have had several discussions with many people about what are the best years of the and what is the variation between hull designs from the late 60's thru late 70's. Many people have told me that there was a big change in the hull after 76 and that if you didn't want a flatback but still want to run somehat shallow that you needed a hull. I have had the opportunity to look at serveral different years before and after 76 and to the naked eye I can not see any variation. I have tried to see the specs but they are hard to find. Then I opened the overhead door to natural sunlight and could see shadows. So one more time I got out the grinder and some super-sandpaper used for auto body work and chewed into the hull. The same old problems at the root of the bumps emerged:. Given the amount of structure and tabbing beneath them, there is no way they will ever let loose, so I sanded the one down that was still high, got rid of most of the filler and that was it.
