This breathing Jellyfish costume was a really easy costume to make, jellyfish costumes. I used a see-through dome umbrella for the top, covered with white tulle.

This year my son actually requested a costume other than Thomas. He wants to be Kwazii from Octonauts. So his 1yo brother will be an octopus and I decided to be a jellyfish. I wanted to create a super easy DIY jellyfish costume to go with their theme. Umbrella, tulle, lights and bubble wrap. I bought 4 battery powered led lights from the dollar store. And I used a yard of purple and white tulle I already had in my stash.

A color-coordinated outfit to go with the aquatic theme completes the look. It's easy to emulate one of the elegant, vibrant angels of the sea with either of these costumes using readily available craft supplies and fabrics.

This homemade costume for women entered our Halloween Costume Contest. I was inspired by pictures of jellyfish costumes that I saw on other websites, plus the fact that they glow! I was going for something not too expensive and also not heavy or cumbersome so I decided to use a hybrid of methods I found on the web and added my own twist. Then cut a closefitting hole in the foamboard for the top of the hat to fit through foam board is sitting on top of hat. I cut carefully each time to ensure the hole and hat fit my head closely.
