Faculty can use Nearpod to support student learning in a variety of ways.

Katie used to work with me at IH Bydgoszcz. Much like everyone else on my Twitter, Instagram and Facebook feeds I have had to move my classes online. In my classes I have shop staff, factory workers, warehouse workers, care assistants, cleaners, and of course, full-time mums. I have a university lecturer who almost always uses a website called Nearpod in her lectures with us, and we follow along on our phones, seeing class results immediately on her screen at the front. Unfortunately, as I discovered when I tried to use it, you need an upgrade to use the student-paced lesson function.

Nearpod is a formative assessment platform that provides teachers with tools to produce engaging teaching content for the students. It offers countless tools to make learning fun. But with Nearpod, you can make lessons more interactive, and students will absorb them better. Teachers can create an account for free on Nearpod and access all of the free features. Nearpod also offers silver, gold, or platinum plans that unlock more features for you to use. Go to nearpod. Enter your name and email address to get started. Then, enter the name of your school, and select your role — in this case, teacher. There are several ways to create a lesson for your students — you can create one from scratch, import it from other platforms such as Google Slides, or PowerPoint, and lastly, you can download one of the pre-made lectures available on Nearpod.
