Junior worlds figure skating
The World Junior Figure Skating Championships "World Juniors" or "Junior Worlds" is an annual figure skating competition sanctioned by the International Skating Union in which figure skaters within a junior worlds figure skating age range compete for the title of World Junior champion.
Medals were awarded in men's singles, women's singles , pair skating , and ice dance. The competition also determined the entry quotas for each federation at the World Junior Championships. Skaters were eligible for the World Junior Championships if they turned 13 years of age before July 1, , and if they have not yet turned 19 singles and females of the other two disciplines or 21 male pair skaters and ice dancers. Additionally, skaters must meet the minimum technical elements score requirements. The ISU accepts scores if they were obtained at junior-level ISU-recognized international competitions during the ongoing or preceding season, no later than 21 days before the first official practice day. Based on the results of the World Junior Championships , each ISU member nation could field one to three entries per discipline. Member nations started announcing their entries in December

Figure skaters competed for the title of junior world champion in men's singles, women's singles , pairs , and ice dance. The competition was originally scheduled to be held in Sofia, Bulgaria from March 7—13, On February 12, the International Skating Union announced that the event could not be held as planned due to concerns about a surge in omicron variant cases in Bulgaria peaking on the originally scheduled dates, as well as the host nation's restrictive entry requirements. As the World Junior Championships were already cancelled, the ISU announced that they would evaluate the feasibility of postponing the event until May , if the Bulgarian Skating Federation and other ISU member nations were willing to attend. On February 27, the ISU announced that while they were still considering the feasibility of postponing the event to later in the spring, Bulgaria would no longer be available to host and invited other ISU member nations to apply as replacement hosts.
