Sweet and savory with a caramelized exterior, kalbi grills up fast and easy with a perfect medium rare center. Korean kabli ribs are a traditional Korean beef short rib that can be found at many Korean restaurants. Kalbi is the perfect combo of sweet and savory. Short ribs are generally well marbled and fatty, so they taste super rich and delicious. This recipe was adapted from Chef Billy Parisi.

Mostly beef or pork ribs are used for this particular dish, but there is no rule what cut of meat you have to use. As most Korean dishes are, galbi serves with lots of side diets that go well with reach meat. Most of the time, it serves with Ssamjang- Korean spicy bean paste mixture of Doenjang and Gochujang with other seasonings , some type of kimchi, some type of mini hot pot dish steamed egg, doenjang jjigae or etc. But if you are not comfortable using it, you can definitely save some of the sauce separately and cook it when you are ready. LA is so much fun to travel and so many great places to eat!! Made them yesterday — they taste just like the Korean bbq I used to love when I was a kid!! Thank you!!
