The Konica Pop is a s point-and-shoot that was released in eight exciting colors. I bought the green one. I then spent every day of my latest vacation shooting my green Konica Pop.

For many of us, a high-quality fixed lens 35mm film point-and-shoot is on the bucket list — a camera that we can carry around everywhere and about which we will not get too upset if it gets lost, broken, or stolen. In deciding a camera to acquire, for me there are really only two essential inquiries: 1 is the lens relatively fast and sharp? However, having a small obsession with Konica-branded cameras my father having purchased his Autoreflex T during Vietnam War-era service , I have been attempting to track down some of its lesser-known products to see if they are any good. From the introduction of the C35 rangefinder in until the unveiling of the C35AF in the first consumer autofocus camera , Konica was on top of the compact camera game although its SLRs were always a step or two behind. It did seem to do a good job, overall, with exposure. I find mine to be an excellent camera for travel.

I spend a lot of time at thrift stores, usually in search of records, clothes or cameras. I can browse through the music department for hours, try on jacket after jacket just to put them all back, and scan the electronics section for anything camera-shaped in seconds. Hitting up these stores is such a fun Saturday activity, and gladly my girlfriend enjoys it as much as I do. If you are at these venues as often as I am, you will eventually start to notice which products are more likely to fly off the shelves. Brand clothing and s records are top sellers. Point-and-shoot and foldable cameras do not sit for long, either. But certain things are real shelf warmers: Konica cameras, for example. Outside of the thrift shop, among the blogosphere and on camera culture YouTube channels, Konica seems a bit overlooked.

With climate change being a hot topic, at least your Pop comes with green credentials. Thanks very much.
