La Maison du Steak is a French restaurant near Cambridge station. The food was very good, if maybe a little expensive, and it had good wine. Staff are efficient, rather than friendly, which probably represents the old France quite well! I have tried to go back twice, but it has been too full. Not a huge choice for vegetarians, but I still like it. I had crispy breaded and fried goat cheese, which came with a nice chutney and a large unconventional salad including quail egg, asparagus, sweet corn and radish, plus a bowl of gratin potato. Both excellent. My friend had a classic burger which he enjoyed, particularly the bearnaise sauce which is rare here, accompanied by French fries and a small salad. Will definitely be back! January Went out for a dinner here. The service was quite good. We both had had the Sirloin steak, which was quite nice. Took a star off for the sides and starters. Good value for money though. Nice friendly greeting and a chilled vibe inside. Steak was really good and I thought good value. Nice glass of rose too.

Staff are efficient, rather than friendly, which probably represents the old France quite well! Make sure to order their cheesecake as well; it tastes heavenly. Type your email…. If money is very much an object for you then I am not aware of a better value tomahawk steak in the city though, as we all know, you often get what you pay for with steak, so I was keen to see what you get for your money. The coleslaw often overlooked was also outstanding, so outstanding I finished it, which is incredibly rare for me. Will definitely return!
