He was such a good friend with the Spitz family since the 3rd grade, and they unofficially adopted him as a 5th brother. He considered the Spitz family as his extended family. He enjoyed his youth group at the Bridge Church in Nixa all through middle and high school. As a child, he enjoyed spending time with his grandparents—going horseback riding, swimming, going on vacation, and spending nights with them. He had an adventuresome and vivacious spirit, and spent many days hiking and nights camping with Scooby.
