Rear light out indicator on dash problem. Thread Tools. Received 1 Like on 1 Post. I've got a GS and my dash is telling me that I have a rear light out but all of my lights are working, anybody else having this problem??

The replacement of a light bulb or two will restore order. Some manufacturers add a text message in the instrument panel noting exactly which light is out. The symbol is often described as eyelashes coming out of the back of a car! The lines or eyelashes pointing out are meant to represent light. They specifically point to a burned out brake light bulb. There may be a further message in the instrument panel noting the exact bulb. Again, have the light bulb replaced.

I've seen people mention the third brake light behind the rear screen, I've got a boot spoiler with the brake light in so would the brake light behind the screen still be active, I didn't even know there was a light there. Mines is the orange car with lines coming out of the back, seen here next to the Battery light. Yeah that's what I thought.. All the exterior lights seem fine, so what else is there to check Other than the light on the parcel shelf? Ah I see Mine is different, mine is the rear bulb failure.. All lights seem to be working though but I haven't checked the parcel shelf one as I didn't know it existed. I have just had someone step on the brake pedal and the passenger side brake light does not work Hi yes it's easy to change although you need to take the light cluster out to replace blown bulb,not sure what bulb type is called but you need a double filament one. By bbesser August 22, in 90 - 00 Lexus LS I've been reading the various discussions about how all of the dash indicator lights will come on, which signals a bad alternator. My 'tail light out' indicator slowly came on while driving during the day with lights off but none of the tail lights appear to be burned out. None of the other indication lights have come on though. Is this the early alternator failure warning system or just something in the tail light circuit? I had the same problem. It was a brake light. While I was back there I replaced them all and the indicator went off. Check all the wiring for the lights in the trunk lid. There are ground points back there, so make sure that the nuts are tight against the wire eyelets.

Light Failure Sensor located in the trunk, wires in the trunk hinge, or bulbs. Did you check the rear bulbs with the brake pedal depressed? Bad sensor or something? Search for:. Followers 2. Tried with mine and tried with used and neither were really burnt or corroded inside and still light on. It's a good idea to check the bulbs but mine went off when the brake light from the spoiler went loose. My user's manual also called it the rear fog indicator too.
