A fan-made song about a villain from the cartoon series "My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic" has been growing in popularity on TikTok over the past month, but users on the app are questioning if those participating in dance challenges or jamming to the song are aware of its origins. The song "Discord," which was created by a fan and based on a villain from the cartoon series "My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic" frequently abbreviated as "MLP" , began circulating on TikTok months ago. Originally released in by a Eurobeat artist known as Eurobeat Brony, the most well-known version of the song online is a remix released in by The Living Tombstone. Over the course of the series' run on Discovery Family from to , fans called "bronies" — adult men who loved the show — became known for producing original music, fanfiction, and fan art some of it not safe for work , and for hosting events like "Bronycon" each year. The song's latest resurgence on TikTok is part of the fandom's legacy, but it's divorced the song from its original "My Little Pony" and "brony" context.

By Abbey White. Through two EPs featuring more than 20 combined remixes, Vaughn — who is also involved with Web3 Music Rights Group, a nonprofit focused on fair and equitable licensing agreements and copyrights in the Web3 space — has delivered a series of thematic spins that are not only at the disposal of Hasbro, but My Little Pony fans across the world. She also discusses making music for brands in the social media age, creating music for young audiences, and how Web3 technologies and AI are reshaping the modern music industry. What inspired these? Hasbro had approached us about helping with some of the marketing materials around My Little Pony. It was a really exciting project because we got a ton of amazing female creators involved as well as the bronies, the producers that we worked with. It was just a lot of nostalgic moments, as well as some modern touches. But it came about organically. I spoke to the head of music [at Hasbro] and we put our heads together to figure out what would audiences want to interact with. But we are going to be doing some more My Little Pony across a lot of fun generations. You were clearly trying to tap into the generational diversity of the My Little Pony fan base.
Celebrate the magic of friendship with activities, stickers and stories from Equestria, littleponny only fans. When you use things like AI to create something, it loses its magic. You need to know where all the bodies are buried in order to license something.
By Courtney Howard. Not only have the toys themselves changed, morphing from a traditional cutesy cartoon style to a pushed anime-inspired appearance, but so have each of the films and televised series, progressively modernizing their aesthetics and storytelling. The mythical kingdom of Equestria has been hit hard since its three species — ponies, Pegasi and unicorns — were torn apart due to reasons no one can recall. Distrust and hatred of unicorns and Pegasi is ingrained in the minds of the anthropomorphized equine population of Maretime Bay — and that prejudice has run rampant. Schools have scrubbed the past from their history books, and their major commercial business, run by war-mongering profiteer Phyllis Cloverleaf Elizabeth Perkins , is built solely on stoking fear of winged or horned ponykind. Yet the foreign creatures have become something of a curiosity for headstrong empath Sunny Starscout Vanessa Hudgens and her father Argyle Michael McKean , who both believe in a path to understanding.
Odds are, if you've been paying attention to cartoons over the last couple of decades, you've heard of " My Little Pony " in some fashion. Whether that's because you watched the original series in the s or because your kids can't get enough of the current iterations in the s or both , the phrase "friendship is magic" is probably not completely foreign to your ears. Incredibly enough, the "My Little Pony" franchise began because creator Bonnie Zacherle was a once a girl who wanted a pony of her own. She was working as an illustrator for a greeting card company when she crossed paths with toy creator Hasbro and switched from making cards to coming up with new ideas for toys per Fauquier Times. One thing led to another, and several decades later there have been numerous "My Little Pony" TV series, movies, and, of course, lots and lots of ponies. Here's a look at how one woman's idea for a fun set of gender-neutral toys spawned an decades-strong dynasty. She told the Fauquier Times that she was encouraged to become a veterinarian as a child, but she soon realized the field wasn't quite what she was looking for.
