Joined: Dec 12, I've got a stock k LQ4 that I want to do a lowish budget turbo setup, ideally blow-thru, ideally running the 25cm T6 HX55 Seems to have 65mm inducer mm exducer I have here, but a few questions I've been 'told' its working, but is it worth tearing down to check bearings and rings, or replace bearings and rings regardless? Worth changing the cam? Turbos dont need cams, but they are mild as hell.

Whichever you decide to use, make sure you enter the correct characterization data for it. What fuel pump s are you running? Are you using a boost referenced regulator? The VE table is likely going to be too rich at idle, then way too lean at anything between idle and 2 psi boost.
Its impossible to achieve truly round and straight cylinders.

We often talk about the lack of young people getting into the automotive industry, and specifically the engine building niche. However, Olivia Scaffidi is one example of the younger generation looking to do more engine building as she continues to learn the craft. I really enjoy that aspect of it. I love working with my hands. Olivia, along with her boyfriend Travis, have aspirations of engine building and racing and they share their experience through social media channels such as Instagram and YouTube. Olivia in particular has always been into cars, engines and all things fast. What really sparked my interest specifically in engines was watching the Motor Trend show Engine Masters and just a real interest in learning how it all works. I love LS engines quite a bit and my boyfriend and I started getting into the hobby of going to the junkyard every weekend and seeing what they have.

I've looked at a lot of corvette guys setups because they have manual transmissions and there seems to be more data and I think I'm looking for something in the 63 ish size with near a. Is it worth putting together with a budget converter and then dynoing to be able to give more accurate info to the converter company building the good one or just start with the good one and get it tweaked as necessary once the car is up and running?
