In my view, the high-end Leica was Panasonic gearing up for a full frame mirrorless camera of their own. They have been in mirrorless lumix or canon than anyone. Canon have not been serious the whole time. Neither have Nikon until now.
Panasonic has had much more experience building mirrorless cameras, however, having essentially founded the modern mirrorless era in with the Lumix G1. So which company made the better first-generation camera? Looking at the spec sheet, the Lumix S1 stands out in some key areas, but it can be hard to determine a true winner. Of course, how much of that is noticeable in the real world is debatable and depends on the scene, but the S1 sensor is capable of delivering the best of both worlds between sensitivity and resolution, putting it ahead of the Canon here. When it comes to continuous shooting performance, both the Canon and the Lumix are pretty even and are limited in similar ways, but the S1 has a slight edge. Both with and without continuous autofocus, the S1 performs 1 frame per second faster than the EOS R. It can hit a maximum of 9 fps, or 6 with continuous AF, while the Canon tops out at 8 fps, or 5 with continuous AF.

The skin tones look wonderful. I feel like the color of our Canon looks really good in the orange colors. If you look at the Spyder Checkr Photo , you can see the color rendition becomes very clear. The colors just look very clean with the Panasonic. They look so close. I mean this is when I say clean. These two are so close to each other. You could definitely correct that Canon to get it in the right world.
But on the R6 II, now the Canon it has the ability to composite those in the camera.
Both bodies were fitted with their respective kit zooms set to f5. The G7 was fitted with the Lumix G mm f3. The higher resolution of the Canon means its crops show a slightly smaller area. Features like open gate 6k recording, vectorscope functionality, and built-in heat vents to reduce overheating make it a videography powerhouse, and that's not even mentioning its excellent in-body image stabilization IBIS system and amazing ergonomics. It even improves on some of the biggest photography drawbacks of its predecessor, the Panasonic LUMIX S5 , with faster burst shooting and a new phase-detection autofocus system. The phase-detection AF still falls behind the competition for keeping pace with fast-moving subjects. If that isn't a dealbreaker, though, you'll find a lot to love about the S5 Mark II.
