We are a 20s and 30s hiking group of the Ramblers Association for people who live in and around the Greater Manchester area. We've been around since and now have over members, so are able to offer a variety of walks to suit you and many other like-minded people - whatever your level of fitness! From epic hikes in the Peak District to gentle meanders around the rolling Cheshire hills, we have walks to suit all levels of fitness. We have a varied itinerary of day walks at weekends and also evening weekday walks during the summer months. We use both car and public transport to access the many excellent walking areas around Manchester and beyond.

We recommend that you wear a good pair of walking boots, and preferably no jeans. You can read more about being prepared on our Before Walking page. Our weekends away are also very popular as they give our members a cost-effective and social way to explore other areas of the country not so easily accessible with a day trip. These are a great opportunity to meet both existing and other new members. Fancy joining us but not sure where to start? Pass, move, receive, pass, move, how fast can you walk? A chance to score, can you still do it? Whatever your motivation you will find that walking football can be friendly, exciting and competitive. The manner in which the game is played promotes exercise and cardiovascular fitness whilst reducing the impact stress of running. MK MaD Walkers play each Thursday night, all year round, the artificial pitch at Woughton leisure centre is outdoor and floodlit. We came into existence in February following an initiative by Make a Difference MaD , an MK based charity who organised a back to sport programme involving walking football. Since then the club has grown from strength to strength with a ever evolving committee and players who support and encourage each other. Our club is open to anyone over the age of 50 who wants to get fit and become part of a team.

We did consider the opportunity to increase the price to include a small donation to MAD Walkers, but the committee voted against it for the time being. He took our family there every year.
