He played college basketball for the Nevada Wolf Pack. He is a three-time NBA champion , having won consecutive titles with the Golden State Warriors in and before winning a third title with the Los Angeles Lakers in Olympic team. After his sophomore campaign, in which he averaged Arenas was being investigated for a prior incident involving guns in the Wizards' locker room, but made light of the accusations by pointing his finger at his teammates, as if he were shooting them. Despite being the most decorated former athlete to play sports at Nevada, JaVale McGee remains humble and appreciative of his days with the Wolf Pack. McGee played two seasons for the Nevada men's basketball team, and , for coach Mark Fox. It's an honor for me. When I first came here, l I never thought this would be possible. It's amazing to be here. It's also amazing to see how much the school has progressed since I was here. He's currently playing for the Sacramento Kings.

It was easy spotting the 7-foot, pound McGee, who has one of the most prolific wingspans for blocking shots and pulling down rebounds. When he plays defense, McGee sweeps under the basket like a condor. In coming to the campus Saturday, McGee took a nostalgic ride on Virginia Street and past the dormitory where he lived. His thoughts harkened back to when the campus was much smaller. After arriving at the university, he toured the gym and saw a larger weight room in addition to the smaller one he remembers 18 years ago.
