Yes, in my opinion Megashark is better. Uzi is nice for before that, but make Megashark for later fights, until you get the SDMG or something. Megashark for the hold-down fire rate and the high chance of not consuming ammo. The Uzi is better for bosses and other enemies with high defense, but the Megashark is better for dealing with small fry. Megashark is also much more ammo-efficient. I'd say that if there's anything else you want to craft with your Souls of Might, do that first since you already have an Uzi, but if there isn't anything else then go ahead and craft the Megashark. The weaker trash mobs aren't much of a threat, you want something that'll be effective against tougher enemies and bosses. Its bullets also have more velocity than the Megashark's, and more than double the knockback. The Megashark's only real advantage is potentially saving you expensive ammo should you decide to use it. Ive been using both for a some time now and it seems to me like the sniper rifle is better overall.
