One child is dead and another hospitalised with serious injuries after a head-on collision between two vehicles in Coldstream, east of Melbourne. Victoria Police said the vehicles collided while travelling along Maroondah Highway just after 4pm on Friday. Both drivers of the two vehicles have been taken to hospital with minor injuries. Parts of Maroondah Highway, between Melba Highway and St Huberts Road, will be closed for some time while detectives process the scene. Police are urging any witnesses of the collision or anyone with more information to contact Crime Stoppers. The collision marks the third death on Victorian roads this year, following the death of a year-old girl in Stonehaven on Wednesday.
