All the big tutorials I've seen have indeed been for controller which is frustrating, but instead of figuring out which buttons correlate to what, just check what the move names are called and crossreference that with the movelist at the topright of your screen. It shouldn't take that much experimentation to figure out how to do what the guide is telling you. Also, this is more of a personal opinion, but IMO you should experiment with a weapon first and try to figure it out yourself before looking up guides. Guides are very handy but if you take five minutes to see what each attack does before looking at one, the guides are far easier to follow even if they're using a different controller. The problem is that the in game guide doesn't show but half of the available combos. I have better things to do with my time then standing in the practice range for hours mashing random buttons hoping i can remember what i just pressed in the unlikely event that i just managed to do something new. I don't even check the training area personally. I literally only watch speedrunners and memorize the moveset then try on my own. The game guide shows what you can do right now. It shows you practically everything the only exceptions I can remember are very specific things like Gunlances reloading after a dash in the top-right, it just can't show every full combo because that'd be impossible.
