The Time: Thursday December 1, pm. I was on the Upper West Side my old high school stomping grounds and decided to stop in somewhere for a drink before my long train ride back to Brooklyn. The Vibe: This place is so big. It looks pretty full, surprising for 5pm on a weekday. I make the bold move of taking the spot between the couple and the laptop guy, mainly because the women are occupying the bulk of the bar but I also purposely want to have my back to the large TV in the corner. Why is there a TV here? But I quickly change my mind when Maggie Rogers comes on my 1 played artist this year, according to my Spotify wrapped , followed by Florence and the Machine my 2 played artist. Uh oh. Am I just a small-town girl living in a lonely world? So just gin and three different fortified wines, nothing really bitter in there whatsoever, which is kind of the point of a Negroni, IMO. Was I Hit On?

The Milling Room opened in November and occupies the space which was originally built in as the luxurious Endicott Hotel. When the original hotel opened, it was described as "in all respects, the finest and best appointed in this part of the city. Fuller, the hotel was crafted out of Pompeian brick and terracotta, including a glass-roofed Palm Room where today in its place is The Milling Room. The building sits between 81st and 82nd St. Monday-Sunday: pmpm. BYOB Monday pm to pm. Monday - Thursday: pmpm.

Arriving for brunch, we were greeted by a soothing ambiance. The venue exuded a pleasing aesthetic. The chilaquiles proved to be delicious, while the eggs Norwegian was average. Overall, a favorable spot for a laid-back and peaceful brunch outing. March This restaurant has a wonderful energy and atmosphere--the skylight is amazing--and the food is excellent. It's great for special occasions, but equally nice for date night. We've brought numerous friends and never had a bad experience. March We had a wonderful dinner before going to the ballet.
