Stray Kids debuted on March 25, with District 9. The group debuted as a group of 9 members but one had left in due to personal reasons. Currently they are a group of 8 members.

Originally a nine-piece group, member Woojin left due to undisclosed personal reasons in October In , Stray Kids' second studio album Noeasy became their first million-selling album. As of October , Stray Kids has sold over 10 million albums across both Korean and Japanese releases. It originally referred to a lost child who wants to chase their dreams and later evolved to represent the idea of finding a way together out of the ordinary. More details and teasers were released in the next two months, including the show's title, Stray Kids. Two members, Lee Know and Felix, were initially eliminated from the group but returned to the final nine-member line-up.

Minho had auditioned for JYP Entertainment back in after being noticed during a global dance event, but he didnt hear from them and thought he had failed. He continued his life as a dancer, until he was finally called back two years later [12]. His individual picture and name were officially revealed by the company on October 11, at noon, for his participation in the upcoming survival show Stray Kids. During the show, he was eliminated on episode 4 because he lacked confidence and made mistakes while rapping, but he was brought back on the final episode on December 19, It was then confirmed that Minho would debut with the boy group Stray Kids. On November 4, , he stepped down of his MC duties.

On this episode, JYP wanted to see how well Minho would be as a rapper, however, Minho had never rapped before and was nervous.
