I'm not a gamer so, even though the cheap pads are not as good as other, more expensive pads, they are more cost effective for me and still meet my needs. I eliminated wear on the feet by using a Teflon tape similar to actual mouse tape, only thicker and wider, over the feet and replace the tape every few weeks as needed.
