He is a chief inquisitor who is always hunting heretics, and when he finds them, he makes sure to punish them thoroughly. Mozgus made an even stronger impression when viewers were led into his huge torture chamber in the Albion tower, where accused heretics suffered a variety of gruesome punishments, medieval style. This made it perfectly clear what kind of monster Mozgus really is, even if he tries to justify it as God's will. Anime villains have all sorts of motivations, from ruling the entire world to destroying entire planets like Frieza in Dragon Ball or getting revenge on an unfair world. Mozgus, meanwhile, is driven by his strict, dogmatic faith, which sets him apart from Berserk's other antagonists.
