Emphasizing that waterfront areas are one of the most critical areas of the city to which they belong, the aim of this work is to demonstrate the share of waterfront use in urban development and the importance of urban life. This paper discusses the processes, challenges and possible contributions of the application of big data to urban historical studies. The aim of this presentation is to reach a standard level of information about and typologies of the Ottoman cities in order to study them in comparative perspective with both the Ottoman cities themselves and the other world cities. Today, we could say that the most significant change has occurred in technology. In the second stage historical processes of İstanbul will be considered and spatial development of İstanbul will be examined as a whole, including examples of cultural heritage from the World, particularly Spain and Italy, will be analyzed.
