The Muses are goddesses representing different arts and sciences in Greek mythology. They are the daughters of Mnemosyne and Zeus. The word muse is also sometimes used for a person who inspires somebody else, or any other type of inspiring object. The Muses were believed to be the inspirers of various arts and sciences, providing divine guidance and creativity to artists, poets, musicians, and scholars. Each Muse was associated with a different artistic or intellectual domain. The nine Muses are ancient Greek personifications of the arts and knowledge.
