The OVC starts with a Ford Mustang Fastback that converts this pony car into a dominating racer, equipped with a competition prepared engine. Only 25 of the limited-edition series of continuation heritage Shelby cars will be hand built. Each continuation Ford Shelby GT is authentic from its spartan race bred interior to the mechanicals and cosmetics. The cars come with a cid aluminum engine supplied by the Carroll Shelby Engine Company with approximately horsepower standard. The suspensions are period correct, as are the brakes and traditional 9-inch fixed rear end.

We should mention that these tires are special, semi-racing Goodyears, with low-angle nylon cord; safe at sustained speeds up to mph. The rear brakes are fitted with sintered-metal linings which, when combined with the racing pads used in the disc-brake calipers, provide a lot of stopping power. The one criticism we have regarding the brakes is that their pedal-pressure requirement is very high. Also, the pressed-steel stock oil sump is replaced with a bathtub-sized cast-aluminum sump, complete with cooling fins and all that sexy stuff.
