Niflheim Realm in God of War is one of the most challenging areas in the game, but niflheim rune locations be accessed without finding all four Cipher pieces.

Upon finding them all, you will also complete the "The Realm of Fog" favor. There are more than four chests in the game, but some get locked out during the story, and some are harder to reach than others. You need to collect all the treasure from the workshops central chamber for the "Darkness and Fog" trophy. You also need to find all the cipher collectibles for the "Trilingual" trophy. The realm of Niflheim is an optional realm in God of War that can only be accessed after you gain the 4 Niflheim Language Ciphers. Once they are collected, you can travel to the realm. The realm is covered in a poisonous mist that will deplete the pink bar that appears above you. If the bar empties completely, you'll rapidly lose health until death. From the entrance, avoid the fog by sticking to higher ground and look for chests that hold Mist Echoes. Sindri will appear ahead of you and he'll give you the lowdown on the realm. The area ahead of him is part of a maze that will kill anybody who stays in there too long. Fortunately, Sindri can craft you armor so that your pink gauge is depleted slower which will allow you to stay in the maze longer.
