Nightmare Chica is a major antagonist and one of the nightmare animatronics of the Five Nights at Freddy's series, first appearing in Five Nights at Freddy's 4. She is a nightmarish variant of Chica. Nightmare Chica also appears in Dittophobia , the second story of Tales from the Pizzaplex 8 B-7 as one of the secondary antagonists. With the use of hallucinogenic gas, Nightmare Chica becomes a severely deteriorated and extensively modified version of the original Chica animatronic. Although the damages to her upper body are relatively minor, her suit's lower torso is completely severed from her hips. Her bib is tapered off at the bottom, almost entirely reduced to shreds. Nightmare Chica's lower legs are painted entirely orange as opposed to yellow with orange feet, and her kneecaps appear to be missing.

She is the slower out of her and Bonnie, and tends to wander into the kitchen, banging around dishes for unknown reasons. The player has to hold the right door shut to prevent her from getting in, her presence at the door noticable by her loud breathing.

Nightmare Chica has a similar appearance to her core series counterpart, but smaller, glossier, and has less damage to her body. Like all of the nightmares, she has four fingers instead of five. She is colored a yellow-orange color, and has black claws. She has only one set of gray-like teeth, while the rest of her mouth is covered by a dark substance. Her right eye is black with a yellow pupil, while the other eye has a dark gray color pupil. Tears and holes are around her upper arms, upper legs, and head, some covered by wires. She seems to be wearing eyelashes, too.
