Nikon 18 105 vs 18 140
Ugly Hedgehog - Photography Forum. Ugly Hedgehog. Nikon vs I have a question for anyone who has used both mentioned lenses. I am planning a trip next year to Ireland and Scotland and am looking to carry only necessary equipment. I have a Nikon that I use on my D I am thinking about the extra reach of the for the landscape. Has anyone used both lenses and what is your opinion of each. I just read some bad reviews on lens creep on the and Nikkor lenses so those are out of the running. The had good reviews.
These are used to block strong light sources, such as the sun, from the lens to prevent glare and lens flare. I'm no expert, but all the advice I read says concentrate on your lenses.
When the D came out and I started using it with the kit I was stunned at how soft the images were. I thought for sure I had gotten a bad copy of the kit so I went down to the camera store and tried a different one and then I tried another and they were all equally bad. I popped on my favorite prime lens and the difference was huge- Grand Canyon huge. In the past I have not typically been a kit basher, there are those out there that say the kit lens is horrible, just buy the body and get a prime or other, better quality, lens and I often disagree with this approach, especially for people new to DSLRS. After my experience I advised anyone buying the D to skip the and get the or consider some alternatives Recommended Lenses for Nikon DX Cameras. The is a better lens, it out performs the easily but especially now that Nikon has dropped their AA filter, a filter that actually blurs the image slightly to avoid moire, in the D and now the D - they really needed a good lens to include with these cameras. Is the that lens?
The lens is designed to fit a camera with an APS-C ''subframe'' sensor, so while it will mount on Nikon film or FX digital bodies, it will show obvious vignetting when set to any focal length. The lens appears to replace the older mm lens, which did not come equipped with VR image stabilization. Small and light, the mm represents a field of view of approximately mm in 35mm terms. To economize and create a more efficient design, the lens is equipped with a variable aperture; as the zoom extends the focal length, both the largest and smallest apertures change. The following chart represents the largest and smallest apertures you can expect at a given focal length:.

Even wide open it is razor sharp. With full-time manual focus, you can move the focus ring whilst it is in AF autofocus mode. I have had the since and it stayed on my D60 almost all the time. In my humble opinion if you need the extra reach you should buy the but do not buy the new lens just because you think or have read that it is sharper. However I see no practical reason to go for the if you already have the , not enough of an improvement. Help us by suggesting a value. I would not buy a Chinese made lens. A lower weight is also an advantage for home appliances, as it makes transportation easier, and for many other types of products. The point is, what works best for you. According to my local camera repair guru, older Sigmas are pretty much a throwaway because parts cannot be found, and internal structural quality is not that great. This allows you to fit more of the scene into the photograph based on APS-C format. So how does it compare to the ?

Have been using the mm kit lens with my D I am very happy with it. Thank you Does anyone have a preference for one over the other? I have a Nikon that I use on my D Cheap alternatives 6. Ugly Hedgehog - Photography Forum. It is really hard to say, either one will give great results. I like the lens. Is the that lens? The lens adjusts the optical path accordingly, ensuring that any type of motion blur is corrected before the sensor captures the image. Watch my video discussing the differences seen below More sample images with the and the Nikon D Final Verdict - Bought with the D or D this lens compliments the sensor of those cameras nicely and provides a good compromise between quality and convenience. Remember too that when pointing up, a creeping lens will generally go wider, which is not such a terrible thing if you're running it wide anyway. Thank you, Lonnie.
Yes you are talented
