One of my friends back in the day had a Nissan ZX Turbo. It was very fast at the time. Definitely faster than any car that I had available to me at the time.
Oh, add to that the 'gentleman's agreement' in Japan that no one would make cars over hp at the time, so it didn't run very high boost just like the Supra, Mitsi GTO etc. It had no light weight panels, hence the weight, as it was considered a luxury sports model, not an all out racer. I still beat plenty of V8s since it came on boost so quick and out handled many of them with it's low slung V6. This wasn't a supercar but it was very fast and powerful for Mine used to go about as fast as I could think when you jumped on it. It had almost no turbo lag so built torque real quick. Handling was excellent with the wide wheel base.
