The Nissan Titan is a capable and competent full-size pickup truck, but it's outclassed by more capable and contemporary rivals. With the introduction of an all-new Toyota Tundra , the Nissan also no longer looks like the best nondomestic alternative. We appreciate the Titan's best-in-class warranty and roster of popular tech features, but its infotainment system is obsolete compared with the others, which also offer more configurations and more innovations. The Titan is only offered with two cab sizes extended and crew and is exclusively powered by a hp V-8 paired with an automatic transmission. While this single powertrain is actually a strong point, along with its quiet cabin and supremely comfy seats, the Titan can't compete with the Chevrolet Silverado , the GMC Sierra , the Ford F , or the Ram For , Nissan gives the Titan lineup new standard features and updated option packages. The entry-level S now comes standard with a trailer hitch and a spray-on bedliner. The next-up SV now comes standard with the previously optional Convenience package. Along with built-in navigation, the kit includes dual-zone climate control, a power-adjustable driver's seat, heated front seats, front and rear parking sensors, remote start, and more.

Every Titan is powered by a hp V-8 backed by a nine-speed automatic transmission. Available in both rear- and four-wheel drive, the Titan can be configured with either an extended cab with a 6. The bigger Titan XD is built for heavy-duty work and is reviewed separately. While the Titan has a comfy cabin, it's technology-challenged versus newly redesigned trucks like the Ford F Other full-sizers offer high-performance versions with massively more-powerful engines and wildly-longer-travel off-road suspensions that are named after scary dinosaurs—think Raptor and TRX. But the Titan has no counter to those; its mildly upgraded Pro-4X model only gets as crazy as its skid plates, Bilstein shocks, and badging will let it—which is not very. Nissan makes only a few minor equipment changes to the Titan for Nissan has also re-introduced the Midnight Edition package for crew-cab SV models. That package goes dark with black exterior and interior styling, as well as black inch wheels. Since the Titan is far from class-leading we think it serves best as a work truck.

I've owned four Titans. Noisy, thirsty, unreliable etc. Research Another Vehicle. Now has , miles! Decent truck Nissan could do better. Roush Replies. Clean lines, good sound system, I added dual exhaust system at Hogan Brothers muffler shop in Topeka right after purchase. The cabin serves very well for truck duty yet with comfort and convenience. Visibility is excellent to all corners, although shorter drivers may not like the large base on the windshield pillar. It's refined and is in every way a nice place to be for traveling, whether it's to the job site or towing the boat to the lake. Displaying all 4 reviews. Too many problems even though we keep giving many chances. I gotta say the Titan does have its quirks but it's a damn fine truck. Insert Quotes Quotes Post Reply.

Nissan's full-sized pickup competes well with most other models.

The view rearward is very good, especially with the tow mirrors. Never too old to enjoy a second childhood. But pickups are all about carrying or towing stuff and the Titan will get those jobs done, with payload ratings that reach above 2, pounds, and good towing performance. You won't see any of the noise-reduction materials inside unless you're under the dash installing a brake controller with the tow-package pigtail , but if you've ever been in an early pre Titan you will notice the current models are much quieter and smoother. On the outside the Titan has a rugged, purposeful look. The Titan lacks a full-time AWD to match the power output, and a lack of passenger room for crew cab models makes it subpar compared to competitors. Safety features include frontal airbags, side-impact airbags, side-curtain airbags, active front head restraints, and electronic stability control with traction control. Service is awful when charging more than others unless warranty. Decent truck Nissan could do better. The rear doors on King Cabs swing almost degrees for easy access and there's room back there for six-footers on short-to-moderate-length trips. I agree! Log in.
