The SL MkIII comes in 49 and 61 key varieties, but aside from the range of the keyboard the hardware is the same for both. I have owned this controller for nearly 2 years now and absolutely love its very well thought-out integration with Ableton live. Had a quick play with it controlling Ableton and everything looks pretty straightforward and mapped well. The integration with Live is just amazing to me Ability to use DAW for recording, sound volume, design - he is very productive. After a conversation with customer service - and I need to add here that they were very responsive, no more than a day turn between correspondence - they once again advised me of the options and I chose to go the refurb way. The full colour LCD screens give you full visibility of your parameters, while the pads, buttons, eight faders and eight knobs get you hands-on with your music - and in any major music software, using InControl.
