Baculoviruses are circular double-stranded DNA viruses that infect insects and are widely used as the baculoviral expression vectors BEVs , which provide a eukaryotic milieu for heterologous expression. However, purification of recombinant proteins produced using BEVs is laborious, time-consuming, and often expensive.
