Fueled by a unique combination of educational institutions, women's empowerment programs, leadership development, outreach initiatives and social action projects, Ohr Torah Stone illuminates the relevance of authentic Torah Judaism in the modern world, making a transformative impact on Jewish life, learning and leadership. Ohr Torah Stone provide Legal Aid as well as a Hotline for Agunot - women who are unable to get a divorce from recalcitrant husbands. In Israel divorce courts are religious not civil , even if the couple is not observant, and it is only the man who can grant the divorce get. In the hopes of alleviating the sometimes arduous situations that arise while getting a divorce in Israel, Ohr Torah Stone has created the Prenuptial Initiative Program to promote and bring awareness to marrying couples signing halachic prenuptial agreements. The strategy for expanding the use of halachic prenuptial agreements focuses on building a proactive public awareness about the importance of halachic prenuptial agreements and making this part of the conversation couples have as they prepare for marriage so that increasing numbers of Israelis will sign these agreements. JUF amplifies our collective strength to make the world a better place — for everyone.

The organization is led by Rabbi Kenneth Brander. As of , OTS included 27 educational institutions under its auspices. The organization also includes a network of over emissaries who serve in positions of spiritual and educational leadership across North America , South America , Central America , Australia , and New Zealand. These programs have garnered national and international recognition for their innovative approach. OTS programs for women have played a role in advancing Orthodox female scholarship and leadership. The organization established the first school dedicated to teaching advanced Talmud to post-high school-age women. The women's college affiliated with OTS hosts the largest women's beit midrash study hall in recorded Jewish history. Notably, graduates from the college college have become leaders in Jewish communities globally, with one even being the first female to officially serve as the director of a rabbinical court. OTS's women's college developed a program specifically for women with special needs. The curriculum allows participants to acquire both learning and vocational skills, build independence, and improve self-esteem while expanding their love of Torah , Israel, and the Jewish people. The program had proven so successful that in , a parallel program was established for young men. Another OTS program enables religious women to serve in the Israeli army. Previously, Israeli women were forced to choose between service to their country and an observant lifestyle. By way of the program, female participants are inducted as a group and strengthened by intense study before, during, and after their service. The curriculum is geared toward contemporary concerns as well as Jewish law and legal texts.

A noted educational innovator and community cultivator with critical experience in creating, developing and maintaining religious institutions of learning and leadership, Rabbi Brander joined OTS in In his capacity as Vice President and as Dean, Rabbi Brander focused on improving all aspects of the student life experience, in particular global service learning and Israel advocacy, personal and virtual engagement with Jewish communities and their lay and rabbinic leadership around the world, in addition to restructuring the Graduate Program of Advanced Talmudic Studies for Women GPATS. Rabbi Brander came to YU after 14 years of serving as the senior rabbi of the Boca Raton Synagogue — , overseeing its explosive growth from 60 families to more than families. As one of the fastest growing modern Orthodox communities in the United States, he also is credited with building key institutions to support Jewish life in the region. Rabbi Brander has published numerous articles on Jewish law and philosophy which have appeared in various scholarly journals, served as the editor for The Yeshiva University Haggada Ktav: New York, , and has been interviewed in the New York Times, Washington Post, Wall Street Journal, Jerusalem Post and in multiple media outlets throughout the world. He delivers popular lectures in various areas of Jewish thought and jurisprudence and has lectured in communities throughout North America, the United Kingdom, South Africa, Australia and Israel.
