View Full Version : Help with timing on olds. I have a Tahati jet boat with a olds. It has Hardin equipment, including valve covers and front and rear engine mounts. I purchased this boat in dire need of fixing. I dont see and timing pointer at all on this setup. Is there something special I need for this setup? I took it out on the water and it ran good but when I backed of the throttle it would stall. I am running a Race demon mechanical secondaries, i want to get time perfect so ic an dial this carb in. A Race demon mechanical secondaries is not designed for partial throttle. It is a wide open competition carburetor. It does not have the necessary dual circuits for a boat or car engine. It is a basic carb with increased jetting passages and boosters for wide open throttle. Also not a Marine legal carb. I guess because it says "RACE" its faster!
