Oshi no Ko is so brilliantly cruel in the way it made its viewers captivated and heavily invested in Ai Hoshino, only to give her a tragic ending. The viewers aren't the only ones who have been played by the show; Dr. Goro, who has been reincarnated as Aquamarine Hoshino, is also a victim of this cruel fate. He witnesses Ai's murder and watches as his mother's life slips out of his grasp. After that, Aqua makes it his life's goal to avenge his mother's death -- and the talented Akane Kurokawa is a crucial asset to achieve that goal. Akane is one of the up-and-coming talents who was cast on the reality show LoveNow -- the same show Aqua had to join in order to make Kaburagi spill what he knows about Ai. However, despite her talents in other fields, Akane lacks the natural gusto to shine in a reality show. She fades into the shadows of the other members, and this becomes her downfall when her agency forces her to do whatever it takes to stand out. This leads to one incident after another, causing viewers of the in-universe show to lambast her online. Akane almost spirals to her death, but Aqua fortunately saves her before the worst could happen. Aqua's help, however, doesn't stop at physically saving Akane from harm. While it's Mem-Cho and Yuki who told Akane to portray a role while they tape, it's Aqua's preferences that led her to directly imitate Ai. After that, Akane sinks into researching everything she can about the late idol, and once she's done, she's simply superb. She has managed to turn herself into Ai, and the anime makes sure to point this out by giving her the same brilliant eyes whenever she's in-character.

The only question is whether she will straight up die or be hospitalized with a major issue.
