Development of consultation skills as a supervisor and counselor educator. Provides students with an overview of the counseling profession that includes the history and philosophical foundations of the profession and roles and functions of professional counselors. As an advanced qualitative method class, this course introduces theory and ethnographic research methods by presenting the various ways by which socio-cultural anthropologists observe and analyze phenomena, groups or individuals in everyday language and social practices in their local and global contexts, taking into account issues of language, equity and educational policy.
