Oxygen not included electrolyzer setup

The problem I find with it is that sometimes the liquid gets deleted for some reason. It seems that I have to implement separate infinite gas storage and continuously pump oxygen and hydrogen from the electrolyzer room into it, wasting power. This problem also confounded me for a while. Two things that seem to prevent it in my experience: place your oxygen on the top layer and hydrogen on the bottom. Also, place a solid tile above the top left square of the electrolyzer. By the way, I remember reading that chambers needed to be primed with respective gases for auto separation to occur without hitches, but the design with a tile above the top-left of the electrolyzer seems to work out of the box from vacuum, sending the oxygen up top.

Buildings in the upper chamber will overheat if not made from Gold Amalgam. It will also leak heat through the Manual Airlock and the Pneumatic Doors. The initial startup will pump the wrong element, which will cause damage to the hydrogen generator. Under most circumstances, this will quickly set itself up to only have the correct gasses pump. The primary benefit of this design is that all components run under a single 1k wire. It also produces a small amount of excess hydrogen, which allows for external power usage. A more complex setup is to use three Gas Pumps: two for the Oxygen and one for the Hydrogen and exploits the fact that the tile can hold only one type of gas at the same time.

Maybe someone now will explain who knows. As mentioned in the previous section, this design doesn't begin with pumps for oxygen, only for oxygen not included electrolyzer setup. The high efficiency comes from taking advantage of the One element per cell rule : Electrolyzers work by outputting gas alternating between hydrogen and oxygen in their top-left tile.

Electrolyzers are a great way to produce oxygen for dupes in Oxygen Not Included. It is no surprise that oxygen generation is one of the most difficult elements in Oxygen Not Included , and many players struggle walking the line between not enough and too much. While having too little oxygen will cause dupes to suffocate, too much can drain power, water, or algae. Oxygen Not Included is a game deeply rooted in real-world science. A player must balance elements like gas, heat, water, waste, and food, all while learning their fair share of physics and math. While experimentation is half the fun, this process can be daunting for some players, and a basic understanding of how an electrolyzer can function within a base, can provide the reprieve needed to focus on other elements of the game. In other words, a player should have one electrolyzer per eight dupes, and two gas pumps per electrolyzer, plus two gas filters to ensure the right gas is going to the right place.

I don't know if anyone's made you aware yet, I couldn't find a comment about it, but it's done that really annoying thing steam does where a bunch of pictures have disappeared. It should be a single kg bottle of each, not kg per tile in the liquid locks, but otherwise from what you describe you're doing it perfectly. If you're using pumps to distribute the oxygen, then this design in no different than any other SPOM. I won't judge either way anyone's single-player game experience, but at least now I'll have a guide available for both groups of players. Created by. This is outdated info as that issue was fixed. The expectation is that you would build a single module in the early game and gradually expand it as your colony grows. My answer to other questions: "I hate pipes spaghetti mechanicals filters and I like efficiency and simplicity". One side of the "v" will fill with hydrogen and the other with oxygen. I'm suspecting that there could be some relationship between the total molar masses element molar mass multiplied by the amount of the element of interacting tiles.

Maybe one thing to mention in the setup to construct where the oxygen side is already in oxygen. Magialisk [author] 10 Dec, pm. It was last updated for AP If radiant gas pipes are desired, it is important to note that some material choices are deceptively bad: gold amalgam is especially poor, barely beating granite gas pipes. You could try a different liquid mass or element. Note that the build on the left what I would call right-handed, as oxygen comes out the right is one tile wider than the other build, due to how gasses always come from the upper left electrolyzer tile. You would think the gas would delete the liquid or at least continuously press it into the underlying full tile of oil so that the vent wouldn't be partially flooded, but the interaction of gas and liquid tiles here is different from the electrolyzer example. If your oxygen or hydrogen pressure goes above the volume of liquid you used to "trick" your electrolyzers, it can displace the liquid and cause funny things to happen. VisualEditor View history Talk 0. Here is an example I use for my bases. Thanks for pointing out the problem! You generally decide how many heads to build from the beginning and construct the whole thing all at once, rather than for example starting with 3 and adding on another 6 down the road.
