Couple days later, now it also shifting real hard, sometimes not wanting to leave 2nd gear, if I can get it up to 50mph it shakes real bad. I'm a single mom on a budget. I've usually google or utube what I gotta do and do it myself. I looked for this code and common troubles associated with it. I have read of TCM replacements, tranny rebuilds and replacements, valve body replacements, solenoid pack replacements, but I have read cases of the problem remaining after any one of these. How has Chrysler not performed a recall for this? I've been told to take the valve body apart and just see if I see any trash or something out of place. I did'nt want a high mileage transmission from the men's mall because I tow so I had a shop do it. I had a check engine light and we kept checking the codes. Sign In Sign Up. Recommended Posts. Put a new torque converter with it. Only vote in the poll if your 42RLE blew up and it needed to be rebuilt or replaced. Quote message in reply? Hi to all, my first time here. Been having a problem with my 04 LJ with , miles going into limp mode and throwing out code P solenoid switch valve stuck in low reverse. Have already replaced solenoid pack and had the valve body gone through and a shift kit installed.
It was a bit sloppy and we did play in a mud puddle splashing muddy water and slop over the hood and roof. My comments are in red:. Thanks, Herb. I was told by a chrysler tech that the switch valve is in the valve body. You are using an out of date browser. It points primarily to transmission, valve body and solenoid issues, but I wouldn't go there yet I've unplugged several connections just and cleaned. Before that happens is shifts normally. Noticed I was in limp mode on the way home. Skerr Replies. I got the P and the PO, tried the solenoid pack and that didn't fix it.
