This year, I have been trying to make my classes mostly student-paced. It really helps differentiate and allows me to answer questions all class. I started my unit for Parallel Line proofs by exploring parallel and perpendicular lines algebraically. In my geometry course, we explore the geometric and algebraic aspects of almost every unit. Day 1 : The Desmos activity I created for this unit explored standard, slope-intercept, and transformation vertex form.

Character education. Students must be able to construct these types of proofs : -Algebraic Proofs with the Distributive Property -Proof of the Vertical Angles Theorem Vertical angles are congruent.
I really like that this is differentiated for students at all levels. Did you have it so that students were working on the page at the same time, and could see other student's edits? Or did each student do it individually? I'd like to have each student do it individually, but can't wrap my head around how to do that on drive without them seeing what other students are doing. I uploaded it into Schoology as an assignment in order for students to work on it individually. It ended up working out great. You can also upload it as an assignment in Google Classroom.

What are Geometric Proofs? We all have heard about proof. Generally speaking, proof is something that you need to establish a fact or determine something as true. But how do we prove something in geometry? How do we prove that the two angles are congruent or not? This is where geometric proofs play their role. So, let's begin with defining geometric proofs and discussing their types later on. A well-developed proof has its every statement supported by: Theorems: statements that can be proven true by using reasoning or support of previously established facts Postulates: statements that are assumed as truths without the need of proofs Axioms: statements that are considered as established and self-evident truths TYPES OF GEOMETRIC PROOFS - Geometric proofs are classified into: Direct Proof - In direct proofs, conclusions are derived from facts by using theorems and axioms and without making further assumptions.
