Parallels performance
I've been using SL at work for a while, and have decided to go solo and download it on my home computer, parallels performance. I have an M1 MacBook so have downloaded it to my virtual machine parallels performance.
Fortunately, Parallels Desktop 18 makes running the latest version of Microsoft's OS easier than ever. Parallels Desktop 18 lets you create virtual machines that run on top of macOS so you can run operating systems like Windows as if they were native applications. This software cannot be used to create x86 or Intel-based virtual machines at all when used on an Apple Silicon Mac and you wouldn't want to, considering how poor performance would be. Apple Silicon ditches the bit x86 architecture that Windows has traditionally used, so running Microsoft's operating system on your Mac using Parallels Desktop 18 uses the experimental Windows on ARM release. Fortunately, this version of Windows has come a long way since it first appeared in the days of Windows

The price is higher than it once was, but, thanks to the simplification of the process for running Windows on ARM, Parallels Desktop is the best option for Mac users who need to run Windows software on their Mac. For many Mac users, running Windows applications is a necessity. Or perhaps you want to play Windows games on your Mac. But times have changed and Apple has now transitioned from Intel to its own M-series chips and left Boot Camp in the past as it is not an option for M-series Macs. There is an ARM version of Windows, but getting hold of that can be a challenge. Luckily there are other options for those wanting to run Windows and other guest operating systems on a Mac and one of the best is Parallels Desktop. Thanks to a regular cycle of annual updates — that generally coincide with updates to macOS itself — Parallels Desktop has ruled the roost in the Mac virtualization market in recent years. Parallels Desktop is virtualisation software that allows you to create a virtual machine — or VM — that runs Windows, and other operating systems, on your Mac as though they were another Mac app. This means you can view the Windows desktop within its own window floating on the Mac desktop, expand Windows to full-screen size so that it hides the Mac desktop altogether, or even shrink Windows down to a small preview that sits in a corner on the Mac desktop so that you can keep an eye on the Windows side of things while working in other Mac apps. Over the years Parallels Desktop has gained a wealth of features that take advantage of the fact that multiple operating systems can run side by side. The latest update to Parallels Desktop is version 19, which arrived in August Parallels continues its cycle of annual updates, which always tend to arrive around the same time as each new version of the macOS itself. There are also a number of new features that are only available in the Pro and Business editions of Parallels Desktop, including several features that are specifically aimed at developers. One new feature that will stand out straight away, though, is the redesigned interface, with windows and dialogue boxes in Parallels Desktop 19 now adopting the curved lines and candy colors that Apple has been using in the macOS in recent years. The app even gets a new desktop icon.
I subscribed for the cloud machine and it's working great, thank you for the hint! Sep 17, 31

Parallels is also the only solution officially authorized by Microsoft to run Windows 11 on a Mac. You can even copy and paste files and documents between macOS and Windows as if they were one operating system. It also allowed Mac users to use seriously graphic intensive apps such as Windows only CAD applications for the first time such as SolidWorks. Parallels 16 and Parallels 17 was another evolution in the product as it had to be re-engineered for some fundamental changes in macOS 11 Big Sur, Monterey and beyond into Apple Silicon. Parallels became the first virtualization software to officially support Apple Silicon Macs although other virtual machines have beta versions that support it. Parallels is also the only virtual solution to run Windows on a Mac that is officially endorsed by Microsoft.

Sometimes when I add something to a slide it just makes a big red "X" and the only way out of that is to reboot windows and parallels. Enjoy the rest of your day, and happy developing! Virtual machines require a lot of memory and processor power. Yeah, I don't think you will get decent Windows performance on the M1, and only having 8gb of memory must also be very limiting. The self-contained installer downloads everything you need and walks you through the various macOS permissions you'll need to enable to get the most out of the software. Our machines are more than powerful enough to run the software. Almost zero Windows developers bother compiling their apps for ARM because almost no Windows devices currently use ARM likely will change in coming years. This means that running Windows on an Apple Silicon processor is viable from both a performance and compatibility standpoint. While it's available also for Mac, for some reasons I have to use it on Windows, so I've used it with Parallels Desktop We did experience a small amount of unpredictability while running in full-screen mode where Windows would occasionally not respond to input. This provides an additional layer of protection, as it allows you to sign in to your Windows VM using both Touch ID and your personal Microsoft account. The Business Edition of Parallels Desktop 18 added new features to help large organisations quickly roll-out Parallels virtual machines to multiple users, while the Pro Edition for developers provides improved networking features and a command-line interface to speed up testing. This may slightly reduce Windows performance. We also have a round-up of the Best options for running Windows on a Mac.
Bravo, the excellent answer.
