These are being stored with the help of PCT. The group got together to erect new signage to encourage contact from potential volunteers. The first section of the Tweed Valley Railway Path path was opened in and follows the old railway track bed linking the towns of Walkerburn, Innerleithen and Peebles, passing through the village of Cardrona. The path follows the picturesque River Tweed for much of the way and is almost entirely traffic free. A new section of the path opened in linking Walkerburn to Innerleithen. Planning permission and funding has been granted to create a new path from Peebles to Eddleston. The work is due to start in and it is anticipated that the PPG will also take responsibility of the maintenance of this path. Scottish Borders Council have responsibility for the paths in conjunction with local volunteers who help to keep the pathways clear of litter, cut back vegetation and report any defects to Scottish Borders Council. The work is essential to help keep the pathways open and safe for use. PPG has a base of volunteers who undertake regular work sessions twice per month - we are always keen to recruit additional helpers.

The first memorial in the Borders to honour people executed under the Witchcraft Act is planned for Peebles. A public consultation supported a headstone-style memorial on parkland in the town and a cairn on a nearby hillside where executions took place. The plans have also won support from the town's community council. The memorial will remember all those who died but in particular 27 people executed on a single day at Calf Knowe - now known as Venlaw Hill - in It is thought thousands of Scots, most of them women, were accused of breaking the Witchcraft Act between and - with an estimated 2, of them being executed. Elisa Smith is one of a group of residents who want the 27 killed in Peeblesshire in remembered, as well as the wider atrocities that took place under the act.
